The 2000 Census resulted in Florida gaining two additional seats in the United States House of  Representatives, giving our state a total of 25 seats in the Congress.  When the  Florida Legislature completed the task of drawing the Congressional districts and, as one of the fastest growing areas of the state, Central Florida received one of the two new districts.

     While District 7 will retain most of the areas now represented along I-4 in Seminole and West Volusia counties, new communities including Winter Park, Northwest Volusia, parts of Putnam, all of Flagler and all of St. Johns counties have been added.
